Polaris in Metrotown brings unlimited elegance to Vancouver

We are extremely excited to announce Polaris in Metrotown, located at 6699 Dunblane Avenue, Burnaby, is now completed. Overlooking Bonsor Park, the 36-storey building with 313 units aesthetically complements Metrotown’s urban skyline and allows locals to enjoy all the amenities this development has to offer. We have loved watching this incredible project come to life and have had the pleasure of seeing the residents of Polaris enjoying living here. Designed by award-winning IBI Group, Polaris stands out with its modern glass and dark metal panels and at its summit, three-storey lantern beams, producing a distinctive icon. With a wide selection of homes with functional and flexible floorplans, including home types ranging from studios to three bedroom homes, there is truly something for everyone.

Before even walking into the building, the entrance outside at Polaris is unique with the celestial mural designed by local artist, Myfanwy MacLeod. The theme of the mural is the night sky and is completed with a Star Walk tile mosaic positioned in front of a water feature that represents the tiled stars. As residents walk into the 2,800 sq. ft. hotel-inspired lobby, they are greeted with a warm welcome by the friendly concierge. Suspended from the ceiling is the centerpiece for the lobby designed by Bocci, a world-renowned sculptor. The centerpiece is a unique design created from molten metal poured over modules of sand. In addition to the centerpiece and water feature, the ‘water mist’ fireplace and modern metallic screen shown above acts as a divider providing a quiet space to read or get some work done, separating the main lobby.

One of our goals for Polaris was ensuring residents had enough space to welcome loved ones. While designing Polaris, Transca wanted our residents to enjoy all the amenities the building had to offer, and they have been. The 2,500 sq. ft. double-height amenity space on Level 3 podium features a social lounge, virtual golf simulator, table tennis room, and meeting room. The games room we design allows them to enjoy a game or two of table tennis, while the golf simulator gives residents the opportunity to practice their swing so they are ready for their next round of golf. Whether it is a beautiful day in Vancouver or a cool rainy day, there is always something to do. Meanwhile, the 2,000 sq. ft. outdoor garden with firepit and communal garden plots, and covered outdoor patio with BBQ grills on the Level 3 podium are ideal for gathering and socializing. Those who adore hosting will also find the 500 sq. ft guest suite to be the perfect place for friends and family coming from out of town to make them comfortable during their stay.
